Contrary to allegations implicating Ganta City Mayor Samuel Saye Hardt in facilitating the suspect’s release, members of the city’s business community strongly assert that the mayor was not involved.

Several respected members of the Ganta business community have testified that all possessions of Prince Charles Taylor were handed over properly to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) prior to his release, which was carried out under the agency’s authority and control.

The unexpected release of the drug suspect has sparked an official investigation targeting several officers within the LDEA currently operating in Nimba County.

This development has unsettled many business people in Ganta who have expressed deep dissatisfaction and concern over the decisions made by the agency.

Speaking to FPA, representatives of Ganta’s business sector emphatically stated that Mayor Hardt had no involvement in releasing Prince Charles Taylor. Instead, they praised the mayor’s leadership and highlighted his significant role in the arrest and initial detention of the suspect.

The community credited Mayor Hardt with fostering a positive environment that supports law enforcement cooperation and strengthens local governance.

Members of the business community also underscored the ongoing development projects and initiatives championed by Mayor Hardt, which they say have brought economic growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced civic pride to Ganta.

According to them, the mayor’s appointment was a pivotal moment for the city, bringing about stability and renewed optimism for residents and entrepreneurs alike.

Esther Dahn and Emmanuel Johnson, two prominent business figures, confirmed their collaboration with the mayor and the Ganta community in the arrest and handing over of Princes Charles Taylor to the LDEA.

They further lamented the suspect’s current escape from custody, which they believe undermines the efforts made by local authorities and community leaders.

The business community continues to call for transparency and accountability from the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency and urges swift action to address the lapses that led to the release and subsequent disappearance of the suspect.

The Ganta business community remains united in support of Mayor Samuel Saye Hardt, affirming his commitment to public safety and development.

They expressed the hope that ongoing investigations will restore public confidence and reinforce the city’s fight against drug-related crimes.

Thousands of residents from various sectors of Ganta, including marketers, women’s groups, and motorcyclists, have come together to express strong support for City Mayor Samuel Saye Hardt in his ongoing campaign to combat drug abuse in the city and surrounding county.

In a huge gathering, these influential community groups vowed to continue backing the initiatives led by the Ganta business community and the local government to eliminate drug-related challenges that have long plagued the area.

Their commitment reflects a shared recognition of the devastating impact that drug abuse has had on families and the social fabric of the community.

Speaking at the event, several motorcyclists disclosed how many of their friends and acquaintances have been negatively affected by drug use, some for many years.

They emphasized the urgent need for collective action to create a safer environment for the youth and vulnerable populations who are at risk of falling into substance abuse.

Mayor Samuel Saye Hardt commended the solidarity shown by these groups, underscoring that combating drugs requires a united effort from government officials, business leaders, civil society, and citizens alike.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing comprehensive drug prevention programs, increasing awareness campaigns, and supporting rehabilitation services within Ganta and the wider county.

The collaboration between the city mayor’s office, the business community, and grassroots organizations marks a significant step toward curbing the spread of drugs. By working together, they aim to foster a healthier, more productive community where opportunities for economic growth and social well-being can flourish free from the influence of narcotics.
