Information is power. Our journalists work to bring the truth to Liberian audiences and to hold leaders to account, reporting on the decisions of those in power and how they affect people in Monrovia, in every county and in the diaspora.

New Narratives
FrontPage Africa works with New Narratives, its nonprofit arm, on in-depth reporting projects. Together we produce the podcasts Liberia: Democracy in Focus and War Crimes Justice Comes to Liberia, and the Guest Essays series, which welcomes a diverse range of voices from every part of Liberia. Guest essays are fact-checked before publication.
Our history
FrontPage Africa was founded in 2005 by Rodney Sieh, a journalist who had worked at several daily newspapers in the United States. It began as an online publication and in 2008 started printing a daily edition in Monrovia, where the first copies were collated and folded by hand.
The paper built its name on investigative reporting into corruption, abuse of power and the issues that shape ordinary Liberians’ lives, and the Christian Science Monitor has described it as Liberia’s leading investigative daily. In 2012, reporter Mae Azango’s investigation into female genital cutting sparked a national debate and led to the practice being officially suspended. Our reporting has also brought legal challenges from powerful figures, and international press freedom organisations have stood with our journalists.

FrontPage Africa is an independent news organisation. Our journalism is funded by revenue from our publications, and readers can also support our work through donations.

Editorial standards and corrections
We aim to be accurate, fair and independent. We verify information before we publish, seek comment from the people and institutions we report on, and clearly separate news reporting from opinion: editorials and opinion pieces are labelled as such. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and say so in the article.
