Liberia: ‘Desist or Face the Law’ — Labor Ministry Warns Individuals Illegally Posing as Inspectors

Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah

Monrovia – The Ministry of Labour is warming individuals claiming to be Labour Inspectors  to immediately desist or face the wrath of the law.

The Labour Ministry further strongly warns all employers, institutions and members of the public not to engage, cooperate with or conduct any business with individuals claiming to be Labour Inspectors without proper and verifiable identification.

The Ministry further clarifies that no official labour inspection or enforcement exercise is currently ongoing, and none will commence until the year 2026, warming that any person or group visiting  business entities in the name of the Ministry of Labour for inspection purposes is acting unlawfully.

A Labour Ministry press release issued further disclosed that the annual fees for obtaining a Regular Alien Work Permit has been increased from US$1,000.00 to US$3,000.00 and the process to obtain or renew it is done only at the Ministry of Labour, calling on  the business community and general public to report anyone purporting to process Alien Work Permit for US$1,000.000 to the Ministry for proper redress.
