In the opening match, Grand Bassa triumphed over Bong County with a 54-41 victory. Bong County initially dominated, taking the lead in the first quarter. However, Grand Bassa quickly found their rhythm, taking a 31-22 lead into halftime. The second half saw Bassa assert control, maintaining their advantage and securing the win with a strong performance in the final two quarters.

Montserrado County followed with a commanding performance against Margibi County, winning 45-33. Montserrado built an impressive 26-11 lead in the first half, with Margibi struggling to find cohesion.

Montserrado’s star player, Hadrian Sebwe Jr., played a pivotal role, dazzling the crowd with his spectacular skills and three-point shots.

Despite a strong comeback effort from Margibi, who capitalized on several free throw opportunities, Montserrado maintained their advantage to clinch the victory.

In another exciting match, Grand Gedeh staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Grand Kru 51-37. Grand Kru led 25-17 at halftime, surprising many with their strong first-half showing.

However, Grand Gedeh, led by coach Weelay Barr, refused to back down. After a tense second half, Grand Gedeh leveled the score at 27-25 and then pushed ahead to a 38-33 lead. With Barr’s guidance and the team’s determination, they finished strong, securing a 51-37 win.

Coach Barr expressed her confidence in her team’s potential, saying, “I trust my boys, and we are ready to deliver the trophy to my county of birth.”
