Held under the theme, “Let’s Elevate Academic Standards from Roots to Reach,” the event brought together students, parents, educators, community leaders, education stakeholders, and partners for an evening dedicated to honoring academic achievement and discipline.

The highlight of the program was the recognition of top-performing students across the district. Nelson K. Kandolee of Bishop Albert D. Miller High School took first place, receiving a cash prize of L$50,000. He was followed by Henry Lama of Esther B. Davis High School, who secured second place with L$30,000, and Mohammed A. Swaray of Seku I. Sheriff High School, who earned third place with L$20,000.

In addition to the top three honorees, the ABJ Foundation also recognized valedictorians from participating schools with L$5,000 each, totaling L$45,000 in additional prizes. The initiative reflected the Foundation’s philosophy that all academic effort deserves acknowledgment and reward.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Isaac Muapoh congratulated the honorees and encouraged them to remain disciplined and resilient in pursuit of their goals.

He stated, “This is just the beginning. Embrace ambition, stay focused, and carry the lessons of today into your journey ahead.” His message was described by many attendees as inspiring and timely for the graduating class.

Speaking on behalf of Mr. Andy Bropleh Jallah, CEO of the ABJ Foundation, Madam Josephine Dolo applauded his continued investment in youth development and his role in establishing the Academic Excellence Award as a hallmark initiative within the district.

“Andy Bropleh Jallah continues to raise the bar for community-driven leadership,” Dolo said. “Through his vision and sacrifices, students across District 13 are not only rewarded but also inspired to dream bigger and reach higher.”

The event was supported by several partners, including Focal 89.5 FM, participating schools, the Foundation’s Board and staff, and the ABJ Gender Team, all of whom contributed to the successful execution of the program.

Organizers reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to maintaining and expanding the initiative in years to come, with a broader goal of “inspiring greatness” and promoting educational excellence in District 13 and beyond.
