According to sources familiar with the situation, the deal is nearing completion, with an official announcement expected within the coming days. Malaysian media outlet Astro Arena also reported that the transfer is in its final stages.
Sherman’s exit from Sri Pahang FC comes after the club withdrew from the 2025 Malaysia Super League. The withdrawal was attributed to financial instability and internal administrative issues, leaving several senior players, including Sherman, without a team.
Over the past seven years, Sherman has built a strong reputation in Malaysian football, establishing himself as one of the league’s top West African forwards. His record includes 59 goals and 17 assists in 103 Super League appearances—totaling 76 direct goal contributions. His standout moment came in 2018 when he won the Malaysian Golden Boot, solidifying his status as a prolific striker.
Kuala Lumpur City FC, currently mid-table in the Malaysia Super League, is targeting Sherman to bolster its attacking options for the remainder of the season. Sources close to both the player and the club say Sherman’s experience and proven scoring ability make him a prime target.
“The club believes that Sherman brings not just goals, but leadership—something KL City desperately needs,” one source noted.
Although Sherman has not featured for the Liberia national team since 2023, he has remained focused on his club career. While earlier reports linked him to Indonesian champions Persib Bandung, sources indicate that Kuala Lumpur City FC presented the more concrete offer.
With final paperwork reportedly completed, Sherman is expected to be officially unveiled as a KL City FC player later this week.
