With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the Kesselly, Dunn, Hyman, Johnson, and Konneh families announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Matriarch, Mrs. Linnie Mae Dunn Kesselly. Cherished as a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, Mrs. Kesselly was the devoted widow of the late Dr. Edward Binyah Kesselly, who departed in 1993. Dr. Kesselly was the Founder and first Standard Bearer of the Unity Party (UP).
Mrs. Kesselly’s life was a testament to selfless service and compassion. She held pivotal roles, including Director General of the Civil Service Agency (CSA), President of the Liberian National Red Cross Society, Country Director of the Christian Health Association of Liberia, and Regional Community Services Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, serving in East Africa, West Africa, and Southeast Asia. Through her dedication, she touched countless lives and made a lasting impact on her country and beyond.
Her journey came to a close on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Binyah, Varnii, Jallah, & Varflay Kesselly and their wives—along with many grandchildren, a great grandchild, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of loving relatives. Her first son, Binyah Kesselly, formerly led the Liberia Maritime Authority, while her third son, Jallah Kesselly, now serves as Executive Director of the Governance Commission in the Republic of Liberia.
As the family and loved ones gather to honor Mrs. Kesselly’s life and legacy, funeral arrangements are being thoughtfully prepared and will be announced once plans are finalized. Your prayers, condolences, and messages of support are deeply appreciated during this time of mourning.
Signed:
Binyah C. Kesselly
Son of the Deceased, on behalf of the family
