Liberia’s Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi

President El-Sisi warmly welcomed Ambassador Fahnbulleh, wished him success in his new assignment, and requested that he convey his fraternal greetings and best wishes to President Boakai.

CAIRO, Egypt – The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, with concurrent accreditation to Syria, Jordan, Sudan, Libya, and Lebanon, His Excellency Henry Boima Fahnbulleh, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in the Heliopolis district of Cairo, Egypt.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Fahnbulleh conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, to President El-Sisi. The Liberian Envoy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent Liberia and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between Liberia and Egypt — relations that date back to 1957.

President El-Sisi warmly welcomed Ambassador Fahnbulleh, wished him success in his new assignment, and requested that he convey his fraternal greetings and best wishes to President Boakai. He also reiterated Egypt’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Liberia across multiple sectors.

Prior to the official presentation at the Presidential Palace, and in keeping with diplomatic protocol, Ambassador Fahnbulleh met with Ambassador Wael Nasr El-Din Attia, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for State Protocol, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, where he presented copies of his credentials on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

This marks the official commencement of Ambassador Fahnbulleh’s diplomatic tenure in Cairo and reaffirms Liberia’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Egypt in areas of mutual interest.

Liberia and Egypt share a historic diplomatic relationship grounded in mutual respect and collaboration, with Egypt’s continued support to Liberia in education, technical assistance, infrastructure, and capacity building remaining highly valued.

Following the credential presentation, the Liberian Embassy in Cairo hosted a Public Diplomacy Reception in honor of Ambassador Fahnbulleh. Welcoming him with “optimism and pride,” Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Madam Marriam F. Kupee, expressed confidence that his leadership will further enhance bilateral ties.

The reception was attended by a host of dignitaries and guests, including Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the IMO, Ambassador Robert Kpadeh, and his Alternate Representative, Dr. Harry Conway, both visiting Egypt as guests of the Egyptian Maritime Authority.

Also in attendance were Liberian and Egyptian nationals, as well as representatives from the student communities of Sierra Leone, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and the General Union for African Students in Egypt.

The ceremony concluded with light refreshments, informal interactions, and photo sessions with the new Liberian Envoy.
