MONROVIA – Wein Town FC have been reinstated into the 2025 National 3rd Division Playoff after the Appeals Committee of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) overturned an earlier disqualification decision.

The ruling, delivered on Monday, July 7, now clears the club to compete for a promotion slot to the Second Division.
The Appeals Committee ruled in favor of Wein Town FC after reviewing the eligibility of four players—Daniel Howard, James Gbah, Melvin Riesler, and Snowe Weege—who had been previously suspended. According to the Committee, the players were eligible, and the initial decision to suspend them was made in error.
As a result, the suspension on the players has been lifted with immediate effect, allowing them to return to all football-related activities. The ruling also restores Wein Town FC’s standing in the competition and sets up a crucial third-place playoff match against Golden Dream FC of Montserrado.
That match is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Doris Williams Stadium in Buchanan. The winner will claim the final promotion spot to the LFA Second Division League.
Meanwhile, the Appeals Committee also confirmed the result of the Paris FC versus SUSA FC match, leaving Paris FC as the 2025 National 3rd Division Playoff champions following their 1-0 victory over SUSA.
Wein Town FC had been disqualified on June 29 after the LFA Protest Committee ruled in favor of a complaint filed by SUSA FC, alleging that Wein Town fielded ineligible players in their semifinal clash. That decision reversed the semifinal result in favor of SUSA, who then advanced to the final, while Paris FC went on to win the title.
In a separate ruling, the Protest Committee had also reinstated Bong County’s Phebe Athletic, which is now set to play Golden Dream FC for a promotion spot. However, the date and venue for that match have not been announced.
With their reinstatement, Wein Town FC now has a renewed opportunity to fight for promotion, though their fate depends on the outcome of a single match. Sunday’s clash with Golden Dream FC will determine which team joins Paris FC and SUSA FC in the Second Division next season.
