MONROVIA — The anticipated release of Justin Oldpa Yeazehn, popularly known as “ProphetKey,” from the Monrovia Central Prison on Thursday, August 13, 2026, could face uncertainty after reports emerged that he has not fully complied with conditions imposed by the Supreme Court of Liberia as part of its judgment in the contempt-of-court case against him.

FrontPage Africa has gathered that, while ProphetKey’s six-month custodial sentence is scheduled to expire Thursday, the question of whether he can walk out of prison immediately may now rest squarely with the Supreme Court of Liberia, particularly if the Court determines that he has failed to satisfy one or more of the conditions attached to his release.
The development places ProphetKey at a critical juncture after six months behind bars, with his physical release potentially dependent not simply on the expiration of his prison term but also on whether the conditions imposed by the nation’s highest court have been fulfilled.
The Court’s judgment required him to undertake specific actions following his conviction for criminal contempt, including the publication of an apology and the execution of a behavioral bond. FrontPage Africa gathered that Prophetkey faulted in the publication of his letter of apology for five consecutive days.
According to the Supreme Court’s account of the case, ProphetKey was sentenced after making what the Court considered derogatory and contemptuous remarks against Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay Sr., members of the Supreme Court and, particularly, the Chief Justice’s mother.
The Judiciary said the remarks went beyond permissible criticism and undermined the dignity and authority of the Court.
The Supreme Court subsequently imposed a six-month prison sentence, which was set to run from February 13, 2026, through August 13, 2026. In addition to imprisonment, the Court ordered Prophet Key to publish a formal apology in three local daily newspapers for five consecutive days and to enter into a behavioral bond as part of the conditions associated with his release.
ProphetKey may have reached the final day of his six-month prison sentence, but the expiration of the sentence does not necessarily bring the legal controversy to an automatic conclusion.
Instead, his immediate fate could now depend on the interpretation and enforcement of the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court—and potentially on whether the Court is prepared to extend mercy or pardon any outstanding noncompliance.
