Liberia: Prominent Bomi Citizen Commends Government On Western Corridor Road Project

Bomi County, Liberia – A prominent citizen of Bomi County, and 2029 senatorial hopeful Mr. Soko Adama Dorley, has praised the Government of Liberia for initiating the Western Corridor Road Infrastructure Project.

Mr. Dorley’s statement follows the official groundbreaking ceremony held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, for the 255-kilometer road project, valued at over 363 million United States dollars.

He described the initiative as a major and long-term investment that will benefit not only the current generation but future Liberians as well.

Mr. Dorley specifically commended President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for what he called an inclusive development agenda aimed at ensuring all regions of Liberia benefit from national projects.

According to him, the road project is expected to create short- and medium-term employment opportunities for residents across Western Liberia during its construction phase.

He added that upon completion, the highway will improve trade, boost economic activities, strengthen national security, and enhance cross-border relations between Liberia and neighboring Sierra Leone.

However, Mr. Dorley is calling on the government to prioritize the welfare of citizens who will be directly affected by the project.

He is urging the administration to provide fair and reasonable relocation packages for residents whose homes and properties fall within the project corridor.

Mr. Dorley emphasized that supporting affected communities will demonstrate the government’s commitment to protecting the wellbeing and dignity of its citizens.

He also called on residents of Western Liberia to cooperate with authorities and contractors to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
