
Monrovia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has provided an update regarding the rape allegation reported in Grand Bassa County involving one of its officers.
The LNP confirms that the initial medical report issued by the relevant health facility indicates that there was no penetration.
However, the matter remains under active investigation, particularly concerning the intent and circumstances surrounding the allegation.
The officer in question has been placed under appropriate administrative review pending the outcome of the investigation.
The LNP assures the public that this case is being treated with the utmost seriousness, professionalism and impartiality. The LNP remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated.
‘‘Should any wrongdoing be established, the appropriate legal and disciplinary actions will be taken accordingly,’’ the LNP states.
Meanwhile, the LNP encourage the public to remain calm and allow the investigative process to proceed without interference.
