The suspect, identified as Mamie Williams, a Liberian national originally from River Gee County, was arrested on Wednesday, September 9 at about 1 p.m. following a tip-off received by the agency.

She was later transferred to Harper, where she is currently in LDEA custody undergoing investigation.

Speaking to FrontPage Africa(FPA) at the LDEA Central Office in Harper on Friday, September 11, Special Agent John Williams McGee, Chief of Operations of the LDEA Maryland County Detachment, confirmed the arrest.

“The LDEA got a tip-off, so we got there. We arrested a Liberian national, a female, with four plates of marijuana,” McGee said.

According to McGee, the suspect will be charged and forwarded to court following the completion of the investigation. “She is currently in our custody undergoing investigation. After full investigation, she will be charged and forwarded to court,” he said.

McGee said the agency is continuing efforts to prevent the distribution and use of illicit drugs in the county.

“We are working tirelessly day and night to make sure we have a drug-free environment,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the  LDEA says the investigation remains ongoing, with the suspect expected to be forwarded to court upon completion of the process.
