Liberia: FLY and Action-Aid Global Platform Launches Climate Empowerment Training in Montserrado

Todee – The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) with support from Action-aid Global Platform has launched a climate adaptation and youth climate empowerment training for young people.

The Climate empowerment training ceremony held in Jawagie Township, Todee District lower Montserrado bring together student groups, religious leaders and executive members of FLY including young people.

Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) is a broad-based, democratic, pluralistic, nongovernmental and nonpartisan youth organization established to advocate for and enhance the development of youth and students in Liberia.

At the launching on Friday, FLY Coordinator Montserrado County Chapter Patrick Wee said the training is intended to build the minds of young people on climate change.

FLY as an institution that is responsible for young people going forward will begin engaging the various counties to provide intensive training for the youth, Wee said.

He added: “This is the beginning, and it is our expectation that all fifteen counties will be beneficiary to this initiative as we continue the process. We also want to appreciate Action-Aid Global Platform for the funds provided to make our working assessible, in the coming months the Federation will begin it intensive engagement with young people across Liberia.”

For his part. Federation of Liberian Youth Program manager Samuel Kpator termed the training as a dream come true for the institution, especially under the leadership of its President Banica Elliott.

“I can assure you that under our able President, Madam Banica Elliott, we are ready to working in the interest of the Youth. FLY is not a political institution to promote the agenda of a government or party,” Elliott said.

To the citizens of Todee District, especially the young people, we remain grateful for the love and concern you are showing us. We will come back in the coming months to provide you all necessary training.
