Information on why the police wanted Rep. Yekeh arrested remains scanty but eyewitnesses said dozens of well-armed members of the Emergency Response Unit of the police surrounded the lawmaker’s residence at about 5:00 am Wednesday morning.

The arrest was, however, not possible due to the influx of supporters and residents of the community who also trooped to the residence of the Montserrado District 10 Representative to prevent his arrest.

Rep. Kolubah remained indoor until Rep. Snowe and Amb. Ajisomo arrived at his residence to safely escort him out of his house. The two diplomats walked to Rep. Kolubah despite the huge uncontrolled crowd of supporters, sandwiched him and escorted him into the official vehicle of Rep. Snowe.

It is not clear where he was taken.

More details to follow soon.
