Paynesville – The Chairman of the Collaborating Political Parties and political leader of the Alternative National Congress, Alexander B. Cummings, says if Liberians, most especially students, want things to change for Liberia and their lives, they must begin to do things differently.
“If you are a student and making ‘B and C’ and you want to make ‘A’ you have to study hard,” Cummings said.
Speaking over the weekend at the 5th commencement convocation of the Patmelia Academy School System, Cummings admonished students not to limit themselves to high school education, but to move on with university education.
He also encouraged graduates of the school to take advantage of math and the sciences, on grounds that these areas of academic studies now drive the future of the world.
Cummings said to be successful, it is up to those who crave for success.
‘If it is to be, it ought to me.”
Stating his favorite quote, Cummings said it would be impossible for anyone to make a change, while doing the same thing.
“You cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different result,” Cummings stressed.
Giving her valedictory address, the dux of the graduating class, Patmelia Komoyan urged her colleagues to make wise use of the time to have now to prepare a better and brighter future.
Delivering her speech on the theme, “You can make a difference”, she cautioned her colleagues to expect setbacks along their way, but wants them to remain persistent.
Miss. Komoyan challenged her female colleagues to desist from relying on men for livelihood but to pursue things for themselves.
