According to the team president LTCOL Saimi Omias Kortu, everything is on course in terms of sports and medical equipment.
LTCOL Kortu called on Head Coach Francisco T. Henneh and his technical staff to continue their dedicated work for the progress of the academy and its players.
He explained that the academy, established in 2023, aims to develop both the football skills and classroom education of their players.
The Kortu Academy president disclosed that their main target for the upcoming LFA season is to qualify Kortu FC to the second division.
“I have already made it clear to Head Coach Henneh that our primary goal is to qualify for the second division. This can only be achieved through proper training and selection of players based on their individual and team performances both on and off the ball,” LTCOL Kortu said.
He urged the players to focus on their training to improve their skills and performance on the field. At the same time, he reminded them that while football is a short term career, their classroom education provides a foundation for long term success in life.
“The academy exists to balance sports and academics. Players must understand that excellence in the classroom is just as important as performance on the pitch,” he added.
Kortu FC’s preparations signal a strong commitment to nurturing young talent, both as footballers and students, ahead of Liberia’s upcoming LFA season.
