MONROVIA — Liberia Football Association (LFA) Third Vice President Jodie Reid-Seton is supporting the upcoming Girls Empowerment Camp 2026, a four-day initiative aimed at empowering young girls through football, leadership development, mentorship and life-skills training.

The camp, organized by the Liberia Initiative for Empowerment (LIFE Inc.) under its Football 4 Development Plan, kicked off on August 27–30, 2026, bringing together girls between the ages of 10 and 18.
The initiative seeks to use football as a platform to build confidence, develop leadership qualities and inspire young girls to become positive change-makers in their communities.
Reid-Seton, who serves as Executive Director of LIFE Inc. in addition to her role as LFA Third Vice President, said the camp is designed to go beyond football by creating an environment where girls can develop important skills for their personal and future professional lives.
The four-day program will feature football skills training and development, leadership and life-skills workshops, health and wellness sessions, fun games and team-building activities, mentorship and inspiration, among other activities.
According to organizers, the combination of football and personal development is intended to equip participants with the confidence, knowledge and support needed to navigate challenges and take on leadership roles.
Reid-Seton believes football can serve as an effective vehicle for teaching young girls important values such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, confidence and leadership.
The camp also provides an opportunity for participants to interact with mentors, learn from one another and build relationships in a supportive environment focused on their development.
The initiative is being implemented under LIFE Inc.’s broader Football 4 Development Plan, which uses the sport as a tool for education, empowerment and positive community transformation.
The Girls Empowerment Camp will is currently taking place in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
The camp is being held under the theme: “Be Part of the Change! Learn. Lead. Inspire. Succeed.”
LIFE Inc. says the theme reflects the core objective of the initiative encouraging young girls to recognize their potential, develop their voices and become active contributors to their communities.
With girls ages 10 to 18 at the heart of the program, organizers hope the camp will help nurture a new generation of young women who are confident, informed and prepared to lead.
The Girls Empowerment Camp 2026 is expected to combine football, mentorship, education, wellness and leadership development in an effort to empower youth, build futures and transform communities.
