Liberia: Citizens of Sannoh and Damballah Towns Pay Tribute to Prominent Son for Ongoing Support and Development Efforts

Citizens of Sannoh Town and Damballah Town, from Semivullah Clan in Kporpa District, Grand Cape Mount County, have paid tribute to one of their own, Mr. Thomas Foday Tucker, for his continuous contributions to the development of their communities.

Residents expressed that it was time to honor Mr. Tucker for his unwavering support and urged other citizens of the district to follow his example. Over the weekend, Mr. Tucker donated 20 bags of cement and L$20,000 to the citizens of Sannoh Town in Semivullah Clan. The donation was intended to help plaster a newly constructed guest house, while the monetary contribution was for their groundnut farming project.

Additionally, Mr. Tucker provided assorted food items to the local security firm, Triple Guard Security, for their upcoming graduation ceremony.

In Damballah Town, Mr. Tucker also donated L$20,000 for their groundnut project. Moreover, he built a hand pump in Bendaja Town and donated 60 armchairs to St. Philips Episcopal Elementary School, also in Bendaja.

The citizens extended their gratitude to Mr. Tucker for his consistent support, especially towards students at Guassay Public School and Damballah Public School, who benefit from his scholarship program. The program includes the provision of uniforms, shoes, book bags, and school supplies for the students and administrative materials for the schools.

Bendaja Town Chief, Mr. Mustapha Sonii, expressed appreciation for the newly constructed hand pump and the armchairs, describing them as significant boosts to the town. He noted that the hand pump will provide access to clean drinking water, and the new chairs will improve the classroom experience for the children. He also assured Mr. Tucker that the hand pump would be well-maintained for the benefit of the community.

Sarnor Town Chief, Mr. Gbessy Semivulle, and Chairlady Madam Hawa Fahnbulleh commended Mr. Tucker for his timely contributions, assuring him that all materials provided would be used for their intended purposes. Damballah Youth Spokesperson, Abraham Kamara, and Guassay Public School Principal, Mr. Musa Samah, also thanked Mr. Tucker for his continued generosity towards their towns’ development, promising to put his contributions to good use for the advancement of their communities.

During his presentation of the cement and cash, Mr. Tucker explained that he decided to assist after receiving a request from the townspeople for support in plastering the guest house and funding their groundnut projects.

“I responded to their calls because everything they asked for is in the best interest of our people and their respective towns. As a citizen of the district, it is my duty to listen to the needs of my people and contribute to the common growth of our communities and the future leaders of our district. I assure them of my continued support for the progress of our district and its people,” Mr. Tucker said.
