Monrovia – The keynote speaker at the 11th graduation convocation of Transformer Christian Academy (T-CA), Elder Roosevelt Lakpor Zodon, has challenged graduates, parents and educators to view education as the foundation for opportunity and national development, stressing that it extends far beyond learning how to read, write and count.
Addressing the graduation ceremony on the theme “Education Brings Obligation,” Zodon described education as an investment that shapes character, unlocks opportunities and prepares individuals to contribute meaningfully to society.
“Education is the foundation upon which dreams are built. It teaches us how to think critically, respect others, work diligently and become people of good character and integrity,” Zodon said. “It equips us to serve our families, our communities, our nation and society at large with wisdom, knowledge, competence and compassion.”
He urged graduates and students to treasure education as one of life’s greatest gifts, noting that it unlocks the door to opportunity, dispels the darkness of ignorance and serves as a bridge from one’s current circumstances to God’s intended purpose.
Zodon reminded the graduates that education comes with responsibility, encouraging them to remain disciplined, respect their teachers, complete assignments on time and cultivate good moral character.
He also cautioned students against becoming addicted to mobile phones, social media and online games.
“Avoid distractions that prevent you from achieving your goals,” he advised. “While technology can be useful, excessive time on mobile phones, social media and gaming can hinder your academic progress.”
Turning to parents, Zodon emphasized that they play a critical role in their children’s educational journey beyond paying tuition, providing transportation, uniforms, learning materials and meals.
He urged parents not to leave their children’s education solely in the hands of teachers but to actively participate by attending Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, reviewing report cards and exercise books, monitoring academic performance and maintaining regular communication with teachers.
Zodon also challenged the administration of Transformer Christian Academy to continue investing in quality education through qualified, competent and dedicated teachers, noting that the future of every nation depends on the strength of its educational system.
In his remarks, the founder of the institution, Bishop Dr. George G. Davies Jr., expressed gratitude to God for the school’s continued growth and the successful completion of its 11th academic year.
He commended the teachers for their dedication and thanked parents for their unwavering support and confidence in the institution.
During the ceremony, the school announced plans for a vacation school and summer classes aimed at assisting students who need additional academic support. Management also disclosed affordable tuition packages and expanded academic programs for the upcoming school year.
