We Must Put In Place Uncompromising System That Works In Liberia

The Editor,

Liberia needs a workable but uncompromising system that will make the country an asylum free from abuse, and corruption.

Anything less is not only detrimental to us as a people but to the future unborn generation of our country.

I must also state here that most of our country’s dependable natural resources are not infinite; they are finite and therefore can be depleted.

Our gold, diamond, rubber, and oil will not always be an available source of revenue generation for our government and people.

Therefore, the need to introduce a system that encourages alternative income generation methods cannot be overemphasized at this time.

But if we refuse to erect a proper system in place that promotes the minimization of corruption and mismanagement of public funds, our country could pretty soon become a distraction within the West African Subregion and the world.

For we know that it does not require a rocket scientist to understand the following simple facts:

1. To have no system in place in any country is to have no respect for the rule of law.
2. To have no respect for the rule of law is to believe in lawlessness.
3. And where there is lawlessness, there is always corruption.
