Vice President Howard-Taylor Meets Officials of the City of Kigali to Engender Relationship

Kigali, Rwanda – Vice President Howard-Taylor has held talks with officials of the City of Kigali with the aim of engendering sisterly relationships.

This relationship according to a dispatch, would see Monrovia, Paynesville and Gbarnga City Mayors emulate strategies used to make Kigali the cleanest city in Africa in order to replicate them.

Speaking during the meeting, the Liberian Vice President added that Rwanda has shown that all things are possible if Liberians work together for the good of country and respective communities.

According to Madam Taylor, when this is done, the City Mayors of Monrovia, Paynesville and Gbarnga can model best practices that led to Kigali hitting the historic milestone of being the cleanest city.

Accordingly, as a means of pushing for Liberia’s representation on the global stage in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Veep Howard-Taylor held talks with officials of the SDG office in Rwanda with the aim for the global development agenda to be present in Monrovia by opening an office on the West Coast.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Vice President has participated in the Women Political Leaders Global Forum in Kigali, Rwanda where she informed her audience about the significant role women continue to play in the forward march of the continent and the world at large.

The WPL forum coincided with the holding of the 2018 Mo Ibrahim Governance award presented to former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in Kigali.

The WPL sees to advance society by increasing the number and the influence of women in political leadership positions.

As the only forum reaching out to all female political leaders on an international level, WPL endeavors to find ways to address global challenges by using the collective strength and ability of women in positions of political leadership across the world.

The occasion according to a dispatch, offered participants the opportunity for a select group of female decision-makers to interact and to exchange on best practice and knowledge of political decision-making.

Vice President Howard-Taylor encouraged women across the globe who succeeded in beating the hurdles that usually beset women to make the ultimate sacrifice to show high level of integrity and selflessness.
