
Geneva, Switzerland – Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has met with the Vice President of Switzerland, Alain Berset on the first leg of his working visit to three European capitals, Geneva, Paris and London, in a bid to solidify the already cordial ties between Liberia and these nations and to make a case for more European investment in Liberia.
During a meeting at the Federal Building in Geneva, Vice President Boakai and His Swiss Counterpart highlighted the issues of youth and job creation and the advancement of Swiss support to the agricultural sector and value addition.
The pair discussed poverty reduction in Liberia, the migration situation in Europe and the enhancement of greater cooperation between Liberia and Switzerland.
Vice Presidents Alian and Boakai also touched on the issue of upgrading Liberia’s permanent Mission in Geneva at the Ambassadorial level with representation in Bern to allow for greater cooperation and coordination a dispatch from Geneva quotes Vice Presidential Press Secretary George Saah.
Vice Presidents Boakai and Alain recounted the bilateral and cordial relations that subsists between the two nations since the fifties and promised to accelerate the relations for the benefit of the two nations and peoples, the dispatch said.
