Mrs. Joyce W. D. Sherman was appointed by President George Weah as Deputy Health Minister for Administration and was later confirmed by the Liberian Senate.

Mrs. Sherman is one of the many nominees who sailed smoothly passing through confirmation by the Liberian Senate Committee on Health, Gender, Children and social protection. The committee is chaired by Senator Peter Coleman of Grand Kru County.

She holds a B.S RN. MPM, MMedSci. Her husband, a former chairman of Unity Party was elected in 2014 during the special senatorial election. His induction as Senator of Cape Mount was delayed by legal issues.

Sherman has also been in court for his alleged role in a bribery allegation documented in a report by the UK based Global witness. The report accuses Sable Mining of attempting to criminally change Liberia’s procurement laws.

Of recent Cllr. Sherman has been seen as an ally of President George Weah, and was seen publicly expressing admiration for the Weah Presidency and told several individuals he will not be a stumbling block to the Executive.
