Monrovia – The Deputy Chief of Party at the Feeder Roads Alternative and Maintenance Program (FRAMP), Boniface Satu, has called on members of the Project Coordination Secretariat (PCS) to take ownership of the project as it relates to the development and maintenance of feeder roads in their community, district, and the country at large.
Mr. Satu said the PCS was established under the government of Liberia-USAID partnership agreement, with the primary objective of providing coordination support for successful implementation of the four-year feeder road alternative and maintenance program.
The FRAMP deputy boss made these remarks during the induction and launch of the PCS, held on September 13, 2016 in Sanniquellie City, Nimba County.
He said the PCS will work with stakeholders at the county-level to identify community outreach and engagement structures.
The head of PCS, Albert Toukolon, said the PCS is an opportunity for the members to work and serve its own people at the county-level, noting that the decision were made at the level of government, to include the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Ministry of Transport, among others.
Inducting the PCS members, Toukolon said members of the secretariat must take the assignment seriously in order to get the maximum benefit from it, noting that the group will serve as monitoring and evaluation persons to the project for the period of four years.
The Development Superintendent of Nimba County, Dorr Cooper, said this will enhance what they have been doing in the county, adding that residents should how take ownership of projects at the county level.
