Monrovia-Austin II, the reserve team of MLS club Austin FC, has secured the services of Liberian forward Bryant Jimmy Farkarlun on a three-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional two years.
The 22-year-old, who was chosen by Austin FC as the 31st overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, recently participated in preseason training with the MLS club, scoring two goals and providing one assist in matches against LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls.
In 2020, Farkarlun left Liberia to pursue college soccer, with support from Ken Sports Management, owned by former Liberian professional player Arnold Kennedy. Bryant Farkarlun has earned a DEGREE in PSYCHOLOGY that will go with him for the rest of his life. After football, he has something to fall back on.”
During his college years, Farkarlun secured two MVP awards at Houston Christian University over three years. Additionally, he clinched the Philadelphia 2023 County Meet MVP, serving as motivation for other student-athletes and Liberian players alike.
Meanwhile Romanian club CFR Cluj has announced the signing of Mohammed Kamara, who will join the Romanian club on July 1st. The 26-year-old, currently in his final season at Israeli club Hapoel Haifa, will join on a free transfer in the summer.
