Several Farmers Pledge Support to Presidential Bid of Cummings in Nimba County

Nimba County – Several farmers have come together under the banner National Farmers Movement to Support Mr. Alexander B. Cummings presidential bid come October 10,2017.

The members of the movement hail from Lofa, Bong, Grand Gedeh, Margbi and Nimba Counties.

Speaking to an FPA, Nimba County Correspondent, the head of the group Mr. Robert Mehn said their decision to pledge their support to the presidential bid of Mr. Cummings is based on what they referred to as real change.

According to Mr. Mehn the farmers in Liberia need total change, bags of rice, money exchange. “Climb up Mountain we need total sustainability in the farming sector in the Country and Mr. Cummings has the answer for them”.

Mr. Mehn noted that for a long period of time the farmers in the Country have not been able to boast of anything from national government to them as farmers.

He noted that donors continue to support the agriculture sector of the Country. He lamented that in spite of this and that many funds have come for farmers, they have not benefited from the funding.

The head for the national Farmer Movement noted that their support to Mr. Alexander B. Cummings will help to boost the agriculture sector in the Country.

For his part the political leader for the Alternative National Congress [ANC] Mr. Alexander B. Cummings thanked the national Farmers Movement for their support.

He disclosed that when elected as president of Liberia Come October 10, 2017 his focus will be on health, agriculture, education, roads connectivity among others.

The political leader for the Alternative National Congress the ANC will be involved with transparency, Accountability; Vision shared prosperity commitment experience among others.

Our Correspondent said the ANC standard bearer entered the County over the week-end after launching the parties national campaign in Maryland County and was traveling toward the nation’s capital when he received support from the farmers from Bong, Lofa, Margbi, Grand Gedeh and Nimba Counties.
