Monrovia –President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has fulfilled key financial commitments to Change Agent Network University (CAN University), partnering with the institution’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

The Liberian leader has provided US$5,000 toward the completion of the university’s administrative building and an additional US$10,000 to support the installation of solar energy on campus.
The investments are expected to significantly improve academic operations, enhance learning conditions, and ensure sustainable energy supply for both students and faculty.
“We are committed to the long-term agreement to support this institution because of its importance to the people it serves,” President Boakai said.
He reaffirmed his national message: “Think Liberia, Love Liberia and Build Liberia.”
The growing partnership positions CAN University as an emerging hub of opportunity in northern Liberia, particularly in Lofa County.
President Boakai disclosed plans for international collaboration with a partner university in Arizona, United States, aimed at strengthening academic and professional development.
He also emphasized the importance of expanding technical and vocational education in Lofa County as part of his administration’s broader development agenda.
The land for the institution was donated by residents of Fissibu Town, Zorzor District—birthplace of Mr. Wowoh—demonstrating strong community commitment to education.
Development of the campus, now valued at hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars, has been largely funded through contributions from Liberians in the diaspora, international partners—particularly from the United States and Europe—and local stakeholders including businesspeople, professionals, farmers and market women.
Communities within Liberia have also contributed through labor and logistical support, underscoring a unified effort to advance national progress.
President Boakai also pledged support for a modern drilled-water system with full plumbing to provide safe and reliable water across the campus.
The initiative is expected to improve student welfare and promote long-term institutional sustainability.
Meanwhile, under Mr. Wowoh’s leadership, the Genesis Farm Project in Wozi Town, Zorzor District, is gaining national attention as a model for agricultural development. The 150-acre farmland—donated by local citizens—aims to promote food security and economic empowerment.
The President recommended soil testing to ensure crop suitability and long-term productivity.
Inspired by the Biblical Book of Genesis, symbolizing renewal and provision, the project blends faith with a practical vision for Liberia’s future.
“We solve our own problems when we commit ourselves to solving the problems of others,” Mr. Wowoh said.
In recognition of President Boakai’s leadership in revitalizing agriculture, CAN University will name its College of Agriculture the Joseph N. Boakai Sr. College of Agriculture (JNBCA).
The President accepted the honor, marking a significant milestone in his legacy on national food security.
Also in another development, President Boakai has accepted an invitation to serve as Commencement Speaker at CAN University’s first graduation ceremony scheduled for July 2026.
“Together, through unity, service, and faith, Liberia’s future is being built today,” the President emphasized.
