NAMBO Condemns Senator George Weah Attacks on VP Boakai

Monrovia –The National Movement to Support Joseph Boakai (NAMBO) says its attention has been drawn to what it calls wave of scathing attacks directed at Vice President Joseph Boakai by the Standard Bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change, Senator George Weah.

In a statement issued Monday, NAMBO termed as strange and unthinkable that Senator Weah has suddenly mustered the courage to attack the character of Vice President Boakai.

Such attacks, group alleged, are induced with cash to market and compromise Weah’s political independence.

According to NAMBO, the CDC political leader was influenced to embark on an attack against the VP just after a recent trip to Nigeria and subsequent meeting between him and Liberty Party Standard Bearer Charles Brumskine.

NAMBO frowned at Senator Weah’s claim at two political gatherings in Gbarpolu and Grand Bassa counties.

Sen. Weah over the weekend alleged that VP Boakai is a rice dealer and has partnered with Lebanese businessmen to hike the price of the Liberian stable food on the market.

NAMBO says such assertion lack proof and are not only strange and silly, but shows Senator Weah’s political limitation.

The group says Sen. Weah’s claim that VP Boakai was a fierce general of the disbanded Lofa Defense Force is childish.

”Sen. Weah’s claim that VP Boakai was a fierce general of the disbanded Lofa Defense Force is childish and a total rubbish from a blockheaded individual who remains unimpressive as a Senator for Montserrado as the records of IRED shows that Weah is a booboo or silent lawmaker who has dismally performed in the Liberian Senate,” NAMBO said.

The communication further maintained that the Montserrado County Senator Weah’s claim of age factor against VP Boakai is sheer hypocrisy since he (Weah) once serves as running mate to the oldest presidential candidate in the 2011 elections, Cllr. Winston Tubman.

The group has warned Senator Weah against tainting the image of the Liberian Vice President but to put forth tangible arguments that would prove his political competence.

NAMBO however alleged that Senator Weah was the mastermind behind protestors who unleashed attacks on the Vice President convoy in Clara Town.

This, the group noted is because Sen. Weah does not have the intellectual capacity to face the Vice President in a serious political discourse, due to his obvious intellectual deficits.

Meanwhile NAMBO stressed that Senator Weah’s attacks presupposes that he is prepared to play to the tune of the highest bidder in the upcoming October election.
