Kakata, Margibi County – Muslims in Margibi County under the banner of the Margibi County Muslim Council has unveiled blue print of a US$190,000 three-storey multipurpose complex project.

Dunor, the Chairman of the Margibi County Muslim Council unveiling the blue print of the proposed multifaceted project on Friday, August 11, 2017 at a local Mosque in Kakata said that as the Muslims of Liberia have so long been yielding for development, especially in the area of infrastructural development,
He said Muslims in Margibi County have now become farsighted to be the first Muslims group in the history of Liberia to leave from the state of underdevelopment to development.
Mr. Dunor said: “Margibi County Muslims have become the first to take the lead and the challenge to make sure that unity exist among us”.
“Whenever there is unity, there must be peace, there must be development among Muslims” He noted.
The Margibi County Muslim Council Chairman said, against such backdrop; the Muslims community of the county through the secretariat of the council designed the blue print for the construction of the three strorey complex for onward transmission to the board of the Muslim council for approval and subsequently embarks on the journey to sought for the needed finances.
Mr. Dunor revealed to the audience that the three storey multipurpose complex is expected to be named as “the Islamic Center”.
“The Islamic Center shall consist of a hall, offices to host the Imam Council, Muslim Council Secretariat, women and youth wings, and a radio and television stations for the Islamic community”. Mr. Dunor disclosed.
He at the same time revealed that several project proposals have been written and ready to be sent to 15 targeted organizations for assistance in funding for the project completion, pleading with the Chairman and members of the Board of the Margibi County Muslim Council for their approval.
He, however, called on Muslims in and out of Liberia to contribute through kinds and cash to ensure that this dream is realized.
In his acceptance remarks, Imam Varflay Sheriff, the Chairman of the board of the Margibi County Muslim Council said he and members of the board were glad to the council for envisaging the need to construct a complex behalf of Muslims of the county.
Imam Sheriff anticipates that all Muslims and their Christian’s brothers and sisters will rally the needed funding to have the project completed.
As the official unveiling ceremony of the Margibi Muslim Council’s multipurpose complex project was marked with a fund raising rally, a representative candidate of Margibi County electoral district number three on the ticket of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC), P. Blama Siryon donated the amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand ($150.000.00) Liberian Dollars and one hundred bags of cement toward the project.
Mr. Siryon termed the idea to construct a center for Muslims in the county as a reassurance of their confidence.
He commended the Muslim Council for the farsightedness and described the project as “welcoming and laudable”.
