‘Liberia’s Economy Depends on LBDI’ – John Davies

Monrovia – The President of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), John Davies, says the economy of Liberia depends on the bank, adding that LBDI involvement in the economy is a clear evidence that they are boosting economic activities.

“We are contributing to the Liberian economy and the LBDI is continuing to provide loans and other services to business entities in Liberia that are helping the country’s economy,” he said.

He said if the LBDI fails, the economy of the country would be embroiled in a serious problem, saying the bank is involved in helping lots of businesses in Liberia.

“We cannot afford to fail and we will not fail. We are taking banking to our customers by providing the necessary services needed, so, we need to start from in-house among ourselves,” he noted.

Speaking at the close of a week-long seminar held for junior and senior managers outside Monrovia.

Those attended the workshop were given seven days by Mr. Davies to come up with a report on the way forward on the improvement of their various departments.

“As we go back all of the senior and junior managers who attended the seminar are given seven days to give their report on the way forward in their various departments how to improve the operation of the bank,” he said.

Davies also called on his staff to be creative as the bank improves its service for its customers.

The LBDI Bank recently improved its service with the introduction of the ATM.

The bank’s head of credit, Othello Sherman described the seminar as an eye-opening, saying it would help to improve services at LBDI.

“We are ready to serve the Liberian people with our valuable services and we are ready to go after our customers and take the services to them,” he said.
