Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has suspended Mr. Abdullah L. Kamara from his position as Acting Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), with immediate effect.
The suspension follows a report from the General Auditing Commission (GAC) that outlines serious allegations of financial misconduct and corruption. According to the report, Mr. Kamara is implicated in significant financial irregularities during his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of TAMMA Corporation, particularly concerning the handling of public funds.
In the letter of suspension, President Boakai cited the government’s unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that Mr. Kamara is suspended without pay, pending the outcome of a full and independent investigation by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).
The President has also instructed Mr. Kamara to fully cooperate with the LACC and the Ministry of Justice and to make himself available throughout the investigative process.
This action, the Executive Mansion noted, reflects the administration’s determination to uphold integrity in public service and ensure that individuals entrusted with public responsibilities are held to the highest standards of accountability.
