The engagement, which was held at the Mary Help Christian School, gathered residents including men, women, youth  and persons with disabilities. It was aimed at increasing their understanding of anti-corruption laws and enhancing visibility of the NIF in local communities.

The Executive Director of the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL), Anderson D. Miamen, speaking at the event, called on citizens to become more active in the fight against corruption, particularly within their own communities.

“I am particularly excited about the growing increase in anti-corruption knowledge among citizens and their commitment levels in supporting transparency and accountability efforts in Liberia, and grateful to the Embassy of Sweden in Liberia and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) for their crucial support,” Miamen said.

He further emphasized that members of the National Integrity Forum (NIF) need to be more proactive and collaborative to strengthen the collective effort against graft.

The NIF is a consortium of Liberia’s leading anti-corruption and governance institutions, including: Accountability Lab, Financial Intelligence Agency of Liberia (FIA), National Identification Registry, Public Procurement and Concession Commission (PPCC), Internal Audit Agency, Governance Commission (GC), General Auditing Commission (GAC), Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI), and Independent Information Commission (IIC).

The initiative is funded through the National Integrity Building and Anti-Corruption Program, which is implemented by the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL)
