Demanding Group A Schedule

Liberia’s quest for a spot at the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will begin in Group A alongside The Gambia, Guinea, and host nation Mali. With only three group fixtures, every point will be vital in the race for a semifinal berth.
All Group A fixtures will take place at the Stade Mamadou Konaté in Bamako:
Thursday, October 15 (7:00 PM GMT): Liberia vs. The Gambia
Sunday, October 18 (4:00 PM GMT): Liberia vs. Guinea
Wednesday, October 21 (4:00 PM GMT): Liberia vs. Mali

Group B features Senegal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, and Guinea-Bissau. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on October 25, with the third-place match and final scheduled for October 30.
A Test of Liberia’s Youth Development
The regional tournament serves as a crucial litmus test for the nation’s youth football development system.
Facing West African powerhouses on foreign soil, Liberia’s success will hinge on defensive discipline, tactical cohesion, and clinical finishing in front of goal.

Beyond immediate qualification, a strong showing in Bamako is essential for strengthening the national team pipeline by giving young prospects vital high-stakes international exposure.
With squad selection finalized and the fixture schedule set, the Junior Lone Star must focus entirely on their opening clash against The Gambia to build early momentum in Bamako.
