HARPER, Maryland County – The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has announced that it will conduct a formal land survey for property allocated to the Liberia Coast Guard, a move aimed at securing legal ownership and clarifying property boundaries in Harper City.

Acting County Surveyor Emmanuel G. Davies of the LLA in Maryland County explained that the survey is being carried out at the request of the Coast Guard’s Maryland County detachment.
He emphasized that the exercise is critical for establishing clear property lines, preventing disputes and supporting future development initiatives on the site.
“The survey will help confirm the exact boundaries of the land, and the survey was requested by the Liberia Coast Guard (AFL),” Mr. Davies said.
The designated parcel for the survey is situated in the Up-Cape area of Harper City and shares a boundary with property owned by the National Port Authority (NPA).
Authorities are urging neighboring property owners and stakeholders to attend the exercise to avoid any potential misunderstandings regarding land limits.
Scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, starting at 9:00 a.m., the survey will involve relevant government institutions, including the NPA (Maryland County), the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) and the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
The Office of the County Superintendent, led by Henry Cole, and the local Coast Guard detachment have also been copied on the notice.
The official communication was signed by Acting County Surveyor Emmanuel G. Davies and approved by Jonah Wreh Segbe, County Land Administrator of the LLA in Maryland County.
PO1 Aloycious Bondo, Maryland Station Commander of the Coast Guard, commended the Liberia Land Authority for responding to the agency’s request.
He assured full cooperation from the Coast Guard throughout the survey process.
“This collaboration with the LLA will help us secure our operational base and support the Coast Guard’s ongoing activities in Maryland County,” PO1 Bondo stated.
The survey is seen as a vital step in formalizing the Coast Guard’s presence in the area and underscores the LLA’s role in managing and regulating land ownership in Liberia.
