According to Alex Flomo, Officer-In-Charge of the LDEA in Sinoe County, the arrest followed an intelligence tip-off received by his team. The suspect, Alice Toweh, a 45-year-old Liberian national, was apprehended on October 27, 2025 at about 4:30 p.m. at Panama Gate 3, Sinoe County, while traveling from Monrovia with a carton of biscuits.
According to Commander Flomo, following a thorough search, LDEA agents discovered 21 large dispenser plastics containing “Loud” (a strain of marijuana) weighing a total of 265,837 grams.
The confiscated substances, he said, are estimated to have a street value of LRD 420,000 (approximately USD 2,210.50).
The suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the Sinoe County Detachment of the LDEA in Greenville and is expected to be formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution.
The Sinoe County LDEA’s Commander has emphasized that his team remains vigilant in the fight against drug trafficking, stressing that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated in Sinoe County.
He further reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to upholding the law and safeguarding communities from the dangers of narcotics.
“Under my leadership, the LDEA in Sinoe County remains steadfast in its mission to protect our people and send a clear message to those who seek to undermine our society through drug-related crimes,” Commander Flomo vowed.
