Liberia: Eminent Bomi Citizen Craves Continued Diplomacy in Liberia-Guinea Border Situation

MONROVIA –An eminent citizen of Bomi County, Soko Adama Dorley, has called on President Joseph Nyumah Boakai  Sr. to continue prioritizing diplomatic engagement in addressing the ongoing border situation between Liberia and the Republic of Guinea.

In an open letter addressed to the Liberian leader and dated March 19, Mr.  Dorley praised President Boakai for what he described as exemplary leadership and a statesmanlike approach in managing the situation.

Mr. Dorley commended the President’s calm and measured response, noting that his posture within the Mano River Union reflects wisdom, restraint and a strong commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability.

He emphasized that Liberia and Guinea share deep historical and cultural ties, including ethnic and religious connections, intermarriages, shared languages, and long-standing trade relations.

According to Mr. Dorley, these strong bonds make it essential for both countries to resolve any tensions through peaceful and diplomatic means.

The Bomi County figure urged the President to continue using dialogue and constructive engagement as the primary approach to addressing border concerns, describing peaceful negotiation as the most effective and sustainable path forward.

Mr. Dorley noted that President Boakai’s leadership at this critical time not only protects Liberia’s territorial integrity but also strengthens regional cooperation and mutual respect among neighboring states.

He expressed confidence in the President’s ability to maintain peace while fostering stronger bilateral relations between Liberia and Guinea.
