Liberia: Cuttington University to Graduate 678 Friday

Suakoko, Bong County – Cuttington University is set to award 678 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees on Friday, June 28, at the school’s annual commencement ceremony in the Samuel D. Ferguson Hall in Suakoko, Bong County. 

Two hundred and twenty-eight persons are expected to earn degrees in Professional Studies, while 291 persons are set to earn degrees in undergraduate programs. 61 persons will obtain degrees in associate programs, while 29 will receive degrees in Post Graduate Diploma and nine will earn degrees in Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).

The ceremonies, which start at 9 a.m., will be CU President’s Hernam Browne’s second commencement. His Excellency James G. Dimka, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Liberia will be the 58th Commencement Speaker of the Undergraduate Program, while the board chair of Trustees of the Aminata and Sons, Siaka Toure, will deliver the 13th Commencement address of the Graduate and Professional Studies.

Kweshie Tetteh, Director, Department of Public Relations of Cuttington, estimates that the commencement exercise on Friday will attract about 16,000 people to the campus.

Tetteh is estimating that this year’s graduation will add an estimated half a million Liberian dollars to the local economy, include sales of food and hospitality industry.
