Suakoko, Bong County – The Liberian National Police Bong County Detachment says it has received a complaint from the administration of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) about its employee who fled with an amount believed to be in the tone of $US 50,000 from its account.
On Friday, March 6, 2020, social media lit up about a man identified as Amara Enson Joe, the Comptroller of CARI, who reportedly withdrew the money from the institution’s account.
Bong’s police chief, Frederick Nappy explained that the police had received the complaint from CARI and will launch a man-hunt for Amara. “We have received a report from the administration of CARI and we will launch an investigation into the matter,” he said.
CARI’s acting officer-in-charge, Madam Paulette Findley confirmed the development, but could not give further detail on the matter. “Following the media query, CARI wishes to state that there has been an incident involving its Comptroller Amara Enson Joe, which has been reported to the relevant law enforcement agency and CARI can’t make further comment on the matter,” Madam Findley said in response to FrontPageAfrica inquiry.
Amara is said to be a holder of an MBA in Finance and Accounting awarded by Cuttington University Graduate School in 2019.
