Grand Gedeh Lawmaker Allegedly Impregnates 13-Year-Old Girl

Monrovia – A FrontPageAfrica investigation has uncovered that a member of the House of Representatives has allegedly been sexually involved with a 13-year-old child, leading to a pregnancy.

“As we speak, the little girl is sick. He is trying to convince the family that he will take care of the girl. He is an uncle to the girl. The girl’s father who is his brother is in tears. The little girl used to live with the lawmaker.” – Family Source

In our investigation, the little girl named Mary (real name withheld) had to undergo C-section to give birth to the child.

Family sources who spoke to this paper on anonymity said the lawmaker Representative, Morais T. Waylee (UP-District #2 Grand Gedeh County) has accepted responsibility for the act and has promised to shoulder the financial burden, but asked that it remained under cover.

But contrary to the family source assertions, the Grand Gedeh lawmaker denied knowing the girl and claimed he has not had intercourse with her as it is being alleged.

“As we speak, the little girl is sick.”

“He is trying to convince the family that he will take care of the girl. He is an uncle to the girl.”

“The girl’s father who is his brother is in tears. The little girl used to live with the lawmaker,” our source said.

When contacted the lawmaker denied the report stating that people making the allegations are his political opponents.

“I don’t know that girl! These are works of my detractors, but thank God I am not contesting for re-election,” he said.

He claimed he is a father and will not do such evil thing to a little girl.

However, family sources of the victim who confided in this paper said that since the medical operation, the lawmaker has made no effort to ensure that the child and the baby are taken care of.

FrontPageAfrica was informed that the little girl’s health condition has deteriorated to the point that has forced them to take her to the Tappita Medical hospital for a delicate medical operation.

Since the operation, Mary is said to be defecating through her genital, a health condition that needs urgent attention.

Representative Waylee is the Co-Chair on the House of Representative committee on Human and Civil Rights, Maritime Affairs and Member on the committee on Internal Affairs Judiciary for Public Account and Expenditure.

The family, according to information gathered by FPA is yet to report the case the Police due to the agreement to which they and the lawmaker allegedly settled to.

Compromising rape cases has been a major issue confronting the fight against rape in Liberia.

Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Julia Duncan Cassell, has repeatedly called on parents to report cases of rape to the Police or the Ministry, noting that comprising the case interferes with justice and the survival’s health.
