Speaking at the launch event on Thursday, H. Uriah Bryant, Assistant Minister for Industry at the Ministry of Commerce, emphasized that the new framework will “set a new standard for excellence, trust, and safety in Liberia’s food systems.”
“This meeting isn’t just about consultation; it’s about partnership in finding a practical pathway for producers, processors, and traders to safeguard the health of our people, as food safety is everyone’s business,” Bryant asserted.
Sandra Perkins-Lighe, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Sandy Group of Companies, spoke on behalf of the private sector, praising the initiative and urging UNIDO and its partners to ensure the vTPA Scheme is inclusive and affordable.
She stressed that this is crucial for enabling small and medium-sized businesses to thrive and compete effectively in the market.
