The project, which aims to provide an administrative hub for the district’s lawmakers and senators, was approved during the 12th County Sitting of Grand Bassa County. It is crucial for enhancing governance and development in the area.
Gbeh Contractor Services, owned by Joseph S. Piah, was awarded the contract to construct the office. However, despite receiving 90% of the agreed payment, the project remains unfinished. Only the final 10% payment is pending, contingent upon the project’s completion.
Moses Henry, head of the County’s Development Section, confirmed that 90% of the project fee has been paid to the contractor. Mr. Piah, when contacted, stated he would respond at an appropriate time.
In response to the ongoing delays, Rep. Matthew Joe, Representative of Buchanan District #3, has written to Superintendent Karyou Johnson, urging swift action to resolve the issue. Superintendent Johnson has reportedly instructed the County Attorney to take legal action against the contractor.
“This situation has caused significant frustration among the residents of Buchanan District,” said Hon. Joe in his letter. “I trust that Superintendent Johnson will ensure accountability and the timely completion of this critical project.
