Monrovia – Center for African Policy, (CAP) Scholarly Path, in partnership with the Liberia National Student Union (LINSU) is expected to host a two-day symposium for Liberian students seeking to study abroad.

The Symposium will be held under the theme: “Powering Liberians for Professional and Academic Opportunities: Mapping Your Study Abroad Journey.”
According to the organizers, the transformative event is expected to take place on September 21 for undergraduates and 29 for post-graduates at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
Addressing a press conference, the executive director for CAP, Wantoe Teah Wantoe said the symposium aims to empower Liberian students seeking graduate and undergraduate study abroad
According to him, the initiative would provide a comprehensive platform, intended to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to navigate the intricate process of studying abroad.
Said Wantoe, “We believe that study abroad experiences play a crucial role in national growth, youth empowerment, and the prospects of Liberia.”
“It offers countless benefits for Liberian students, including exposure to different cultures, enhanced academic opportunities, and the development of essential skills needed to thrive in a globalized world.”
“By encouraging students to pursue international education, we are investing in their capacity to become future leaders, professionals, and innovators who can contribute significantly to the development of our great nation,” he added.
He said that 1230 participants have registered and they will have the opportunity to partake in engaging workshops, interactive sessions, and panel discussions.
He called on interested individuals, including students, parents, educators, and policymakers, to seize the opportunity to enhance academic prospects and shape a brighter future.
He emphasized that scholars, education experts, and professionals in different fields of study will provide valuable insights into topics such as choosing the right study abroad program, securing scholarships and funding, academic planning, cultural adaptation, and career preparation.
“It is critical to inspire and invest in a generation of Liberians skilled and hungry for global opportunities and foreign educational advancement,” he said.
He added, “I firmly believe that young people in Liberia are critical to our prospects as a nation. By pursuing educational advancement and global capacity and leadership opportunities, we are equipping ourselves to become the driving force behind Liberia’s development.”
