Margibi County – Opposition Vice standard bearer for the ANC, Jeremiah Sulunteh, has expressed regret over government’s refusal to provide credible and affordable education for its citizens in the midst of what he calls accumulation of sufficient resources.

Amb. Sulunteh who serves as running mate to the former Executive Vice President of Coca-Cola Company, Alexander Benedict Cummings, said government has failed in its responsibility to provide quality healthcare to its people.
This, according to him has resulted in several medical institutions in the country including C. H. Rennie Hospital in Kakata, C.B. Dumbar Hospital in Gbarnga and Redemption as well as John F. Kennedy degenerating to a devastating state.
“It is the responsibility of the government. C.H. Rennie Hospital is one of the best, to make sure Redemption is one of the best, to make sure J.F.K. Hospital is one of the best so that all of us can stay in this country and go to hospital,” Sulunteh said.
Sulunteh is a former Ambassador of Liberia to the United States of America and former Minister of Labor as well as Transport under the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf led government but had turned critical of the regime since his preferment as vice running mate by the Liberian businessman and philanthropist.
He told support at a political rally in Margibi County early this week that Liberia high importation of local commodities like pepper and peanuts is as a result of government refusal to give local farmers incentives in promoting their agriculture productivities.
Sulunteh believes the empowerment of Liberian farmers through the provision of incentives to beef-up their productivity would curtail the high importation of local commodities on the Liberian Market.
“We can assure you that we will bring about the change that Liberians deserve.”
“That change that we yearn for every day, the change that would bring about job creation for young people.”
“We going to bring companies in this country that will create jobs so that young people graduating from BWI and University of Liberia will find jobs,” Sulunteh intoned.
This, he said would encourage several Liberians including the youthful population who form part of the unemployment cycle to get involve in agriculture activities.
Sulunteh said young people strive for jobs every day and end up becoming “Zogo’s” as a result of limited opportunity in the country.
“You can’t blame the Zogo’s in the street because there is no job for them and they have to find a living, we are going to change that.”
He placed more emphasis on the need for young people to be provided the opportunity so that they can contribute immensely to Liberia’s transformation.
The ANC vice Standard Bearer said young people are no longer serving as helpers to their parents but liabilities due to the prevailing economic constrain in Liberia, something according to him needs to be changed.
In Kakata, the Capital of Margibi County, where supporters gathered to endorse his party’s bid for the Liberian Presidency, the former Liberian Ambassador to the US expressed regrets over Liberia growing population without development.
“On behalf of the Standard Bearer of ANC, Alexander Cummings, we are going to run and represent not only Margibi, but the people of Liberia.”
“I accept your endorsement and I am Joining Alexander Cummings to change our country and develop it for the betterment of everyone,” Sulunted noted.
Meanwhile, Sulunteh assured that an ANC government stands ready to direct huge portion of the national budget to healthcare and agriculture for the improvement of medical facilities across the country and promote agriculture growth.
For his part, former Margibi County Senator, now Chairman of the Alternative National Congress, Margibi chapter Roland Kaine called on the ANC not to be deterred in Margibi County.
Margibi is believed to be the stronghold of the vice standard bearer of ruling Unity Party, Emmanuel James Nuquay.
But Kaine noted that the presence of Sulunteh, who is also a son of that region on the ticket, would draw huge numbers of supporters for the ANC in Margibi County.
“We want to let the world know that they are no threat to the leadership of the son of this soil, Jeremiah Sulunteh. Mr. Sulunteh, these are your children and don’t be disturb.”
“We the sons and daughters of Margibi called you here to endorse you as our own,” Kaine intoned.
