Monrovia – The Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA) has commenced a five-day practical library management training intended to sharpen the skills of eleven staff of the National Public Library located on Ashmun Street in central Monrovia.
Addressing the opening of the training workshop on Monday, August 19, 2019, Madyln C.R. Wah, Director of the National Public Library said the refresher capacity building training seeks to provide participants the basic knowledge in library management system.
‘’We need to educate employees to effectively run the day to day operations of CNDRA public libraries across Liberia, ‘’she noted.
Madyln C.R. Wah further revealed that after the training, some of the participants will take new assignment Nimba County to help in managing the Agency newly established public library situated in Ganta City.
CNDRA Director General C. Neileh Daitouah, who graced the opening event, admonished participants to take advantage of the ongoing library administration training program saying the primary objective of the National Public Library is to provide Urban and Rural communities with easy access to information and recreational resources.
Director Daitouah acknowledges that many people especially in children in rural areas struggle to archive quality education in the absence of public libraries as children traveled distances to go to school.
He said education sector is very cardinal to what we do individually and collectively noting that an educated nation is a rich nation.
