Kesselly was elected unopposed on Saturday, July 11, 2026, and formally inducted on Saturday, October 17, at St John’s Angell Town Church in Brixton, London. Her inauguration was held under the theme, “One Community, One Vision, One Future,” reflecting her commitment to strengthening unity, promoting inclusion and improving the welfare of Liberians living in the United Kingdom.
In her inaugural address, Kesselly outlined a leadership agenda centred on community welfare, youth empowerment, cultural preservation and accountability, emphasizing the need to ensure that every member of the Liberian community feels represented and supported.
“Our elders must never feel forgotten. Our vulnerable members must know they are not alone. Our young people must see opportunities for their future, and every Liberian must feel that this organisation belongs to them,” she said.
She pledged to promote a leadership culture grounded in compassion, transparency, accountability, unity and service, identifying these values as the foundation of her administration.

Kesselly also announced plans to showcase Liberian culture in schools across the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on involving young people in promoting and appreciating their heritage.
“I promise to showcase Liberian culture throughout schools in the UK, and to involve our young future leaders in promoting and appreciating their roots and heritage and bringing the community together,” she stated.
The initiative is intended to help younger generations maintain connections with Liberia’s cultural identity while encouraging greater interaction and cohesion within the diaspora community.
Kesselly’s administration takes office under the banner of “The New Standard Leadership Agenda,” with its stated priorities aligning with LICO’s longstanding mission to promote unity, integrity and progress among Liberians in London.

Established in 1994, LICO is a not-for-profit organisation founded by Liberians living in London in response to the challenges confronting members of the community. It serves as an umbrella organisation for Liberians in the British capital, providing a platform for support, representation and advocacy.
Over the years, the organisation has focused on community welfare, education and development, youth and women’s empowerment, health and well-being, economic empowerment and networking. It also works to build constructive partnerships with public authorities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders.
LICO describes itself as non-political, non-sectarian and non-discriminatory, welcoming individuals who share its commitment to unity, integrity and progress.
As Kesselly begins her four-year tenure, her stated priorities place particular emphasis on ensuring that older people and vulnerable community members receive support, young people have opportunities to develop, and Liberians in the United Kingdom remain connected to their cultural roots.
Her leadership agenda now sets out the direction for her administration as it seeks to strengthen community bonds and sustain LICO’s role in supporting Liberians in London.
“One Community, One Vision, One Future,” she declared.
