MONROVIA — Borough Football Club has finalized the return of experienced attacking midfielder Nicholas Blapoh, bringing the playmaker back to the New Kru Town-based side on a free transfer from NPA Anchors as the club continues to bolster its squad for the upcoming season.

Blapoh’s return represents more than a standard roster addition; it marks a homecoming for a player deeply tied to the institution’s history and evolution, having previously featured under its former identities as Monrovia Club Breweries and Global Pharma FC.
The midfielder featured during pivotal chapters of the club’s past, including the campaign that saw Monrovia Club Breweries lift the Liberian FA Cup now known as the Orange Cup. He was later part of the Global Pharma FC squad that secured promotion after winning the Liberian FA Second Division Championship, further cementing his connection to the organization’s footballing growth.
Now, after several seasons away, Blapoh returns to the club under its current Borough FC banner.
A Journey Across Borders
Blapoh’s return follows a career path that took him through several domestic and regional sides. Three seasons ago, he departed the club for Blackman Warriors before moving to Sierra Leone to represent Waterloo FC. He subsequently returned to Liberia, enjoying stints with Downtown FC and most recently NPA Anchors.
The acquisition adds proven veteran depth, technical skill, and tactical versatility to Borough FC’s attacking unit ahead of the new campaign.
Reunion and Renewal
Unlike a new arrival adjusting to a fresh environment, Blapoh steps into a dressing room culture and community expectation he knows intimately.
Speaking at his official unveiling, Blapoh expressed enthusiasm for his return.
“It’s good to be back home,” Blapoh stated. “I’m happy to return to the club, and I’m ready to give my all for the badge.”
Blapoh was officially presented by Borough FC Administrative Manager Prince Sayon Slewion, who voiced strong confidence in the midfielder’s capacity to elevate the squad.
“We are happy to welcome Nicholas back to Borough,” Slewion said. “He is a quality player who knows this club and understands what it means to wear this badge. We expect his experience to contribute significantly to our campaign.”

Blapoh’s career trajectory uniquely mirrors the club’s administrative shifts from Monrovia Club Breweries to Global Pharma FC, and ultimately to Borough Football Club.
While his past achievements remain part of the institution’s archive, Blapoh now faces the task of securing his place in the starting XI, bringing creative link-up play and midfield control as the team prepares for competitive action.
From Breweries to Global Pharma, and through stints at Blackman Warriors, Waterloo FC, Downtown FC, and NPA Anchors, Blapoh’s footballing road has taken him across Liberia and beyond ultimately leading him right back to New Kru Town.
