The delegation includes Hon. Dehpue Y. Zuo, Deputy Minister for Economic Management at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, and Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo, Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Liberia’s participation highlights the country’s commitment to climate action, sustainable finance, and environmental protection. The meetings bring together global leaders, negotiators, and policymakers to coordinate strategies on climate financing, resilience building, and the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
Hon. Zuo and Dr. Yarkpawolo have been holding bilateral discussions and attending strategic sessions to ensure that Liberia’s climate priorities are represented in the COP30 agenda.
As part of Liberia’s activities, the EPA will open the Liberia Pavilion on November 10, 2025. The pavilion will showcase the country’s progress in environmental protection, forest conservation, renewable energy development, and climate change mitigation. It will also highlight ongoing efforts toward building a green and sustainable economy.
Other members of the delegation are participating in technical and side meetings designed to strengthen coordination among government institutions, development partners, and civil society groups working on climate-related initiatives.
COP30, scheduled for November 10–21, 2025, will bring together representatives from more than 190 countries under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The conference will focus on accelerating global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase access to climate finance, and support adaptation measures in vulnerable nations, including Liberia.
