Paynesville – A group calling itself, the District Six Movement for Accountability and Development has mandated the lawmaker of the district, Representative Samuel Enders to stop “single-handedly” appointing zonal heads in the district.

They stated that if their lawmaker doesn’t stop, they are going to give him 72 hours and will file a lawsuit against him and his actions. According to the Executive Director of the organization, Mr. Daniel Kow-Donkor, Rep. Enders has also embarked on a smear campaign to exert his authority by interfering in community elections to manipulate results while disregarding the structures and fabrics of the district that seeks to promote unity.
Kow-Donkor further said that Rep. Enders’ alleged action “to single-handedly” appoint 17 zonal heads within the district has violated Section 5.4 of the Local Government Act of 2018.
“The lawmaker is given 72 hours to disengage from proceeding with the illegal election. If Representative Enders refuses to act in accordance with the constitutional provision and the people’s mandate, an interim District Council will be established by the District Movement for Accountability and Development in consultation with the District chairpersons Association,” he said.
Kow-Donkor further accused Rep Enders of instituting a one-man board at the district-owned school — Mary T. Broh Institute — for the past 20 months. He further stated that the reason of the school was to provide quality and affordable education for the less fortunate but fees have increased and admission to the institution is based on the political support to Samuel Enders.
“We are in consultations with the 52 chairpersons and stakeholders across the district, a management team will be formulated to audit Emmanuel Jallah, the only board member of the school and steer the affairs of the institution until a legitimate District Development Unit is established,” he said.
He urged the lawmaker that “The allotted amount of 20,000.00 USD by the China Union be untouched until a legitimate District Development Unit is established.”
When FrontPageAfrica contacted the Rep. Samuel Enders, he said he was not thinking about any pressure group in the district; adding: “Look at these buildings, they are not finished and children are not in school because of that. Currently, I am thinking about how those children can be in school.”
