Muslims Hail VP Howard-Taylor For Donation During Holy Month Of Ramadan

Monrovia – Some members of the Muslim Community in Liberia are commending the Vice President of Liberia, Chief/ Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor, for the level of support given the Community since the inception of the George Weah-led Government.

According to a Press release from the Office of the Vice President, the Liberian Muslims recalled the extraordinary engagements with the Muslim community by Madam Howard-Taylor during the beginning of observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Speaking Thursday, June 14, 2018, when the Vice President donated fifty  bags of 25kg rice to the Muslim Women of the Fish Market Mosque in Sinkor, the Assistant Imam of the Mosque, Imam Kalilu Jalloh, observed that Madam Howard-Taylor does not only recognize Islam  as an important religion but also sees all  religions in Liberia as one.

Also speaking, a member of the Muslim women group, Madam Fatumata Niebi Bah, commended the Vice President for the gesture and assured that the women will continue to pray for the success of this Government.

Speaking earlier, the Religious Advisor in the Office of the Vice President, Reverend Lucy C.H.Bulgar, said the donation by Madam Howard-Taylor during this celebration of Eid was part of President Weah’s goodwill to the Muslims in Liberia.   

Reverend Bulgar, who made the donation on behalf of the Vice President, explained that the donation is one of the many gestures targeting Muslims during this Holy Month of Ramadan which she assured will continue even after the celebration.

Liberian Muslims will, on tomorrow, June 15, 2018, join their counterparts the world over to celebrate Eid al-Fitrmarking the end of the Holy Fast Month of Ramadan.
